For less than a $1/week, your annual membership supports statewide programs that offer:

- A voice ofĀ advocacyĀ for quality health and physical education in the state of Indiana. Advocacy assistance and representation.
- Opportunities to bolsterĀ professional learning networksĀ with Indiana’s best health and physical educators.
- Liaison to state government agencies, partner organizations, SHAPE America and its districts.
- GrantsĀ to help local school programs and promote health equity among all Indiana learners.
- State recognitionĀ for teachers of the year and contributors that advance the causes of quality health and physical education.
- CollegiateĀ scholarshipsĀ for pre-service teachers attending Indiana colleges and universities.

Membership Options
- Professional MembershipĀ : Any person who is employed as a professional with responsibilities, duties and interests in school or community health, physical education, recreation, dance, sports or related areas.
- Young Professional Membership: Open to full-time undergraduate or graduate students who are preparing for a career in the fields of health, physical education, recreation or dance, and who are not employed on a full-time basis in the profession. Membership available for teachers in their first or second year of teaching.
- Lifetime Membership:Ā For individuals who purchased a lifetime membership with a one-time investment of funds.
- Emeritus Membership:Ā Persons who have a record of Association membership for 10 years or more and meet the rule of 85 (minimum 55 years of age plus years of service in the profession). Emeritus members may attend the state conference at no additional cost.
Annual membership begins July 1 and expires June 30.
